El Gran Combo
Still going strong after five decades!
Why see El Gran Combo?
The Greatest Living Salsa Dance Band Return
This legendary Puerto Rican Salsa Orchestra is now over five decades old, and they are showing no signs of slowing down yet! Founded by the last living original member, Rafael Ithier, he also leads on piano and conducts the orchestra as their musical director. These revered salsa gods will be pumping out their unrivaled and florid arrangements of colorful, horn-driven music all night long.
Officially recognized as the "Ambassadors of Our Music" by Puerto Rica's own Senate, their many hits include "El Menu" and "Timablero." Their 1978 album, En Las Vegas, sold more than one million copies, which is a phenomenal turn for that decade, with its follow-up, In Alaska: Breaking the Ice, garnered a Grammy nomination.
